We enjoyed fantastic weather on the day that was filled with fun activities. Our PAC organized a bouncy castle and inflatable obstacle course which everyone enjoyed. Check out some of the highlights below. Our medal races were keenly contested and presentations will be made on Wednesday at our end of year assembly. The Junior & Senior Infants ventured to Moher Hill Farm on their school tour on Friday last. The wet weather didn't spoil the fun! The children got an excellent tour of the farm from Martin and the children were lucky enough to feed and hold some of the animals! Patricia and Sarah invited the children to the play den area and the boys and girls really enjoyed the sand pit and the go-karts. The day was topped off with some delicious ice-cream! Thanks to Martin, Deela, Sarah and Patricia for being great hosts - we will be sure to visit again! What a pleasure it was for all children involved. The infants were engrossed in the 4th & 5th Class’ reading of books and they even got the opportunity to enjoy some dramatisation of the various stories selected by the children themselves from our class library. The boys and girls in Junior & Senior Infants recently enjoyed a Teddy Bears’ Picnic at the Playground! The children also loved participating in teddy-related activities and games with their favourite teddies. We were blessed with a beautiful day yesterday for the Senior School Tour in Galway. The sun kept shining all day as the children enjoyed a walk around Coole Park, an educational visit to Atlantaquaria, lunch outdoors, swimming in Leisureland, a ride on the Big Wheel and finally a delicious Supermacs meal followed by an ice-cream! The children were superb and we appreciate their fantastic behaviour as always. They really represented their school well and we are proud to call them Kilkishen N.S. pupils. We hope they all thoroughly enjoyed the day.

As part of the Junior Achievement Ireland Inspiring Young Minds programme, pupils from Kilkishen N.S. were invited to tour the Zimmer Biomet plant in Shannon on Thursday June 9. Pupils learned about the history of Zimmer Biomet and what products they produce. In smaller groups, pupils got to witness the stages involved in the manufacturing process and the various machines involved in making replacement knees, as well as meeting the engineers who carryout the work at each stage. Students were treated to lunch and received a recyclable drinks bottle as a memento of their visit. A huge thank you to everyone at Zimmer Biomet in Shannon for facilitating our visit especially Mark O'Malley, Cormac McMahon and John Punch for their time and efforts showing us around the plant. Pupils in 6th class celebrated their Confirmation on Sunday June 5 at 10am mass in Kilkishen church. Thank you to Fr. Donal Dwyer who celebrated the ceremony and to Ms. Amy McNamara for coordinating the choir and music for the mass. Thank you to Caroline Madden and Marie Donnellan for producing the beautiful mass booklets. A special thank you to our Parents Association Committee for organising the after mass reception for families back at the school. We hope the boys and girls will remember this special day for years to come. Our school boys team played out a thrilling game with Knockanean N.S. in the Cumann na mBunscol Division 3 semi-final in Tulla G.A.A. pitch on Thursday June 2. The game was an epic with extra-time needed to separate both sides. At the end of extra-time, Knockanean were winners on a scoreline of 3-11 to 3-09. Great credit to our boys who played their hearts out and showcased the huge improvements they have made during the year. They were a credit to the school, their families and their club. We wish Knockanean the best of luck in the final.
